Each year we clean over 1000 oriental rugs, carpets and kilims. All work is always done using traditional methods. It is a very time consuming process but it’s the only way to properly, thoroughly and safely clean oriental rugs. We are able to clean oriental rugs off all kinds, made of wool, cotton and silk, of all sizes and all ages and conditions
How We Clean Oriental Rugs
Every rug we clean in our workshops is always thoroughly washed by hand and air dried. This is a very time consuming process but it is the only method to safely clean Oriental rugs

A Few words about Oriental Rug Cleaning
1. If done properly, having your oriental rug cleaned is an essential step to maintain its beauty and value and to stop it from wearing excessively
2. Oriental rug cleaning is very different to cleaning ordinary carpets. Yarns and dyes used are very different and their maintenance and cleaning is different too
3. When it comes to cleaning your oriental rugs, the more often it’s done- the better it is for the rug. We would recommend having your oriental rugs cleaned every 5-10 years or more often if they’re in a very heavy traffic area
4. Having your rug cleaned is safe, when it’s done properly there is no risk of dyes running and colours bleeding or the rug shrinking
5. We clean all rugs by hand so can handle the most fragile and very antique rugs too
6. It’s impossible to clean an oriental rug at home and we don’t offer this kind of a service. Cleaning oriental rugs requires a lot of water and rugs have to thoroughly dry after they’ve been cleaned. This is impossible to achieve at home, especially in our very damp climate in the UK
